Inês Pinto Ribeiro graduated in Biomedical Laboratory Sciences in July 2011, at Escola Superior de Saúde do Porto of Polytechnic Institute of Porto. In April of 2015, she obtained her Master’s degree in Molecular Medicine and Oncology at Faculty of Medicine of University of Porto. In June of 2020, Ines concluded her PhD in Biomedicine at Faculty of Medicine of University of Porto, which was focused on the evaluation of Helicobacter pylori genotypes and gastric microbiota markers to identify individuals at high risk of gastric carcinoma. During eight years, she integrated a research team at Ipatimup/i3S, where she worked in different projects about host-pathogen interactions in the gastric carcinoma field. Ines developed and worked with in vitro and in vivo infection models to evaluate the effect of different H. pylori strains quantifying the expression level of inflammation genes by RT-PCR and the production of specific cytokines using ELISA. In August of 2020, Inês started to work as a researcher in the SkinBiome platform at Amyris BioProducts Portugal. For 3 years, her focus was to evaluate the effect of new ingredients (ALCHEMY/amyris) on skin microbiota using in vitro model and their performance in vivo measuring skin parameters, such as hydration and trans-epidermal water loss. In November 2023, she integrated a research team at Biorbis, which is a biotechnology company that is specialized in creating and commercializing molecules from agro-industrial waste streams and by-products.
